Coming soon: Zucchini & Yellow Squash
The early squash fields from California have bounced back nicely from last week’s frost. We are happy to report that we will start shipping in late April with limited supplies of zucchini beginning Monday 4/29 and some yellow squash roughly 3 to 5 days later. Squash volume should increase over the course of the following weeks to reach decent shipping volume beginning the week of 5/5/13.
Sunnyside Packing reports that daytime temperatures in the growing areas have been above normal the past few days, projected to be in the mid 80s in the coming days but already having reached the 90 degree mark in some places. Situated under blue skies and ideal growing temperatures, we expect great quality in the days ahead.
The spring organic squash deal is running a little behind schedule but we anticipate having CCOF-Certified green zucchini and yellow squash available in a few short weeks! Stay tuned for more updates.
