At Ciruli Brothers, we are excited to announce that the Champagne® Mango season is about to begin. Last month, we wrote about the crop in a preseason update. Now, we can confirm that harvesting of the fruit is upon us and we hope this year will be a good one for Ciruli Brothers Champagne® Mangos. Ciruli Brothers has decades of experience marketing fresh Mexican mangos, so we are confident that, with high quality fruit, and service trusted by our clients for three generations, we can help you grow mango category sales.
With good weather in our growing regions, the early crops of Champagne® Mangos look promising. COO Chris Ciruli expects a good production in March, ensuring plenty of promotable volume and high quality fruit for consumers throughout the growing season.
There are many reasons why consumers seek out Champagne® Mangos (look at the Champagne® Mango on facebook to see just how much consumers enjoy them). The fruit—available from March through July, and sometimes into early August with favorable weather—is specially selected to make sure that consumers enjoy the highest quality mango. Champagne® Mangos offer an intense, sweet flavor. Though smaller than other red or green mangos, they have a thinner, smaller seed, and therefore a higher pulp-to-pit ratio than other mangos. Plus, Champagne® Mangos have a velvety smooth texture, and are free of the unpleasant, stringy fibers present in other varieties. Be sure to visit the Champagne® Mango website to see recipes and other juicy bits of information on the fruit.
After whetting consumers’ appetites for mangos with the Champagne® Mango, Ciruli Brothers continues to provide other varieties of the fruit throughout the growing season. Under the Ciruli Brothers™ and Mr. Mango® brands, we will be importing both the Kent and Keitt Mango varieties. Kent Mangos, which stay green but gain a red blush on parts of the fruit when ripe, are available from June through August. The Kent variety is one of the most popular, due to its exceptional eating quality, offering a fruit that is sweet and juicy with few fibers. Keitt Mangos—similar in size to the Kent variety, but predominantly green—continue to flourish in August and September, as other varieties in Mexico cease to grow. The Keitt Mango has juicy, firm flesh, as well as limited fibers that make for an easier piece of fruit to eat. Some Asian cuisines even pickle the Keitt Mango to preserve it for later consumption.
Ciruli Brothers is excited for the start of mango season, and we hope you are too. With our facilities ready to load and ship fruit from Nogales, AZ and Donna, TX, combined with our strategic distribution network, Ciruli Brothers can ensure that you get the fruit you need to keep consumers happy this Champagne® Mango season.
