To Meet Customer Demand, Ciruli Brothers Adds Red Le Rouge Bells and Additional Hot Pepper Varieties to Product Line

Posted by Alex on 04 Jan 2013 / 0 Comment

Ciruli Brothers is excited to be in the middle of the year’s pepper season. This year we bring you a multitude of new peppers and old favorites, ready to be incorporated into your product line. Our supply is plentiful and fresh from Sinaloa, and is shipped from both Arizona and Texas.

In addition to our green, red, orange, and yellow bell peppers we have added Le Rouge bell peppers to our line this year. The Le Rouge pepper is longer and less rounded, and therefore is sometimes referred to as an elongated bell pepper. These bell peppers are available now through May, and are all packed and labeled under the Felicimo and Azteca brand names. In addition, our red, orange, and yellow peppers are also labeled under the Ciruli Brothers name.

Our line of hot peppers is also expanding this year. Last year we offered tomatillos and jalapeños, and this year we are adding Anaheim and Serrano peppers to the mix; additions that were made in large part because of demand from retail and foodservice customers. Our hot peppers are available until March, and are packed under the Ciruli Brothers name.

Chris Ciruli, our COO, cites excellent weather as being a cause of both high quality product and higher yield this year. A high volume of hot house bell peppers should continue to be available (especially the red and yellow varieties).

Our advice to retailers:

• Make sure you pair with a trusted supplier (like Ciruli Brothers) to maintain open communication and to stay on top of the latest market trends, pricing, and product quality. This will not only keep you informed, but will also open dialogue regarding promotions and special pricing, particularly during special holidays and peak volume periods.

• Merchandising tips: Follow back room handling instructions to ensure the best possible shelf life for your peppers.
